Does Liquid Chlorophyll Really Work for Skin? I Put it to the Test!

Does Liquid Chlorophyll Really Work for Skin? I Put it to the Test!

You’ve seen it all over your feed—liquid chlorophyll, the green elixir that promises glowing skin. Most people drink it, but I decided to take a different route: I put it directly on my face.

So, did it work? Or did I just make a mess? Let’s get into it.

First, What Even Is Liquid Chlorophyll?

Chlorophyll is the pigment that makes plants green, but beyond that, it's loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, and anti-inflammatory properties. Some swear it clears acne, calms redness, and boosts radiance when consumed—but what happens when you apply it topically? Naturally, I had to find out. This is the ONE I BOUGHT

The DIY Face Mask Recipe

I kept it simple, effective, and easy to whip up—just three ingredients, no overcomplicated steps.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 teaspoon liquid chlorophyll (food-grade, of course)

  • 1 tablespoon gram flour (besan) (for gentle exfoliation + oil control)

  • 2 tablespoons milk (for hydration + brightening)

How to Make It:

  1. Mix the chlorophyll with gram flour.

  2. Slowly add milk until the texture is smooth and spreadable.

  3. Apply a generous layer to clean, dry skin.

  4. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes (until you resemble Shrek, but in a good way 🟢).

  5. Rinse off with lukewarm water and follow with your go-to moisturizer.

The Results: Glow-Up or Gimmick?

Immediately after rinsing, my skin felt cool, refreshed, and noticeably brighter. It had that just-got-a-facial smoothness. I also saw a slight reduction in redness—totally on-brand for chlorophyll’s anti-inflammatory properties.

But does it work long-term? That’s TBD. Skincare is a marathon, not a sprint, but for a quick pick-me-up? It’s a yes from me.

What I Loved:

✅ Cooling and soothing on contact
✅ Reduced redness instantly
✅ Left my skin fresh, soft, and hydrated
✅ Super easy (and cheap) DIY

What I Didn’t Love:

❌ Can stain clothes, so apply with care
❌ Results may vary depending on your skin type

Final Verdict: Would I Do It Again?

Absolutely. If my skin is feeling irritated or needs a quick refresh, I’d reach for this again in a heartbeat. It’s easy, affordable, and just fun to use (plus, it makes for a great self-care moment).
