The Benefits of Sun-Soaked Water: How to Do It Right

Have you ever thought about giving your daily hydration a natural upgrade? Sun-soaked water, also known as solarized water, is an ancient practice making a comeback for its simple yet powerful benefits. By exposing your water to sunlight, you’re inviting nature’s energy to boost your health and well-being.

What is Sun-Soaked Water?

Sun-soaked water is exactly what it sounds like—water left out in direct sunlight to absorb the sun’s energy. This process is thought to enhance the water’s vitality and make it more beneficial for your body and mind. All you need is a glass jar, some water, and a sunny spot!

10 Benefits of Drinking Sun-Soaked Water

  1. Energized Hydration: Sunlight infuses water with subtle energy, which may improve how refreshed you feel after drinking it.

  2. Better Digestion: Many people report improved metabolism and easier digestion after making sun-soaked water part of their routine.

  3. Boosted Immunity: Sunlight exposure may indirectly benefit your immune system by supporting overall wellness.

  4. Detox Support: Solarized water can help flush out toxins, keeping your body balanced.

  5. Skin Glow-Up: Proper hydration paired with solar energy might leave your skin looking more radiant.

  6. Mood Enhancer: Drinking sun-soaked water could help lift your spirits, similar to the mood-boosting effects of sunlight.

  9. Rejuvenated Energy: Many practitioners say they feel more energized and less fatigued.

  10. Tastes Better: The natural process gives the water a refreshing and smooth taste.

How to Make Sun-Soaked Water

  1. Choose Your Container: Use a steel pan or a clear glass jar. Avoid plastic, as it may leach chemicals into the water.

  2. Fill It Up: Pour fresh, clean drinking water into your container.

  3. Seed Infusion: I like to add fenugreek, coriander and cumin seeds in my water to add better digestive properties. You can skip this step or add lemon/ginger instead.
  4. Find a Sunny Spot: Place your jar in a location where it gets direct sunlight for at least 30 mins - 1 hour. Mornings are ideal to avoid excessive heat buildup.

  5. Drink Up: Once your water is ready, drink it within 24 hours to enjoy the maximum benefits.
