Brightening Besan & Sandalwood Face Mask

Brightening Besan & Sandalwood Face Mask

This 3-ingredient face mask combines traditional beauty kitchen staples—gram flour(besan), yogurt, and sandalwood—to gently exfoliate and brighten dull skin. It’s easy to whip up whenever you need a pick-me-up, and it’s gentle enough for all skin types.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon gram flour (besan)
Gently exfoliates and helps absorb excess oil.
  • 1 tablespoon plain yogurt
Moisturizes, soothes, and contains lactic acid to help remove dead skin cells.
  • 1 teaspoon sandalwood powder
Known for its calming, soothing, and brightening properties.

Method

  1. Combine the Dry Ingredients

    • In a small bowl, mix your gram flour and sandalwood powder together.
  2. Add the Yogurt

    • Spoon in the yogurt and stir well until you form a smooth paste.
    • If the mixture is too thick, add a few drops of water; if it’s too thin, sprinkle in a little more gram flour.

  3. Patch Test (Optional, but Recommended)

    • Before applying the mask to your face, dab a small amount on your wrist or behind your ear.
    • Wait a few minutes to ensure there’s no adverse reaction.

  4. Apply Evenly

    • Using clean fingertips or a brush, apply a thin, even layer of the mask to your face and neck.
    • Avoid the delicate under-eye area.

  5. Relax and Let It Work

    • Let the mask sit for 10–15 minutes or until it’s just about to dry.

  6. Rinse and Glow

    • Gently wash off with lukewarm or cold water using light, circular motions.
    • Pat your skin dry with a soft towel and follow up with your favorite moisturizer.
    • Its best to target - hyperpigmentation and dull skin.

Tips & Notes

  • Frequency: Use this mask once a week for best results.
